A ROTH-certified trainer since 2015, Clea co-runs Happy Rascal Ranch with her mother Sally; a nonprofit equine sanctuary in New Mexico providing refuge for more than fifty equines across two locations. This off-the-grid, grassroots sanctuary uses ROTH methodologies as the foundation for connection, communication, and coexistence.
Immersed in equine culture, the ranch offers sanctuary not only to the animals who live there but also to the people who visit. Its vision is to unite humans and animals in nature through presence, simplicity, and sacred connection; encouraging a disconnection from technology and a reconnection to the moment.
The Placitas Wild Horses ignited Clea's commitment in 2013, inspiring consecutive ROTH training and a lifelong dedication to learning the language of the horse. A contributing author in Anna's compilations Escaping Tradition and An Equine Anthology, Clea has documented horses through photography; in the wild, during roundups, and coexisting with humans. ROTH remains the backbone of her work with mustangs.
