Reach Out to Problem Solving
by Anna Twinney
I am often asked to help people with the horse they
just can’t handle. They’ve tried everything
and their horse just will not stop the behavior and
in some cases drastic action will be taken if they
or someone else can’t “fix” the problem.

Connecting with others on a deep meaningful level is
a rarity in our hurried world. When it does happen,
it is truly a gift that needs to be recognized and
acted upon.

interaction and herd hierarchy, humans can now speak
with them through our own body language, gestures and

TRAINING TIPS
Helping the
Abused Horse
By Frank Bell
Very sadly every
year thousands of horses are abused by humans.
Sometimes this is intentional and sometimes it’s
simply the handler’s
ignorance; the result is the same: a
horse that is fearful of the human and desperately
in need of help. The good news is that this condition
is very fixable and begins by simply loving on the
horse.

Blogs are very much the new kid on the block when
it comes to the internet and they are set to become
very big indeed. Just like search engines and newsletters
were a few years ago. Created in the first place
as an online diary the blog (short for web log) has
already exploded into an absolutely essential tool
for anybody online who wants to contact and share
with like minded people.

Life Lessons with a Horse Named Booger
By Debra Gehrke
When I was 10 I went on my first horse back ride.
It was the summer following 4th grade. I was a Campfire
Girl and we were going riding as a group event. I
remember everyone getting their horses before me;
I was the last to mount. When the guide called me
over she introduced me to my horse…his name
was Booger. “Oh boy”, I thought, “a
horse named Booger…this is going to be interesting.

John
Sharp's Legacy
By Frank Bell
The scene was
again all too familiar; yet another untouchable mustang.
But this situation was a bit more complicated. The
last handler was the grandson of one of the finest
horsemen of the last century . . . none other than
John Sharp of Prineville, Oregon.
